In order to reduce neighborhood crimes, create a sense of security and reduce fear of crimes among the citizens, community policing can be considered as the most effective strategy. Combining the efforts of the police department, the members of the community and the local government can help in the accomplishment of all these objectives to develop a healthy and clean society. The concept of community policing is not very new however it has gained attention in the last few years. By adopting this effort, the police and the community make a collaborative effort to identify and solve the problems of crime, societal disorder and disturbances. It combines all the elements of the community to find out a solution to different social problems.
